Does anyone have info on where wild bees can be observed in Howard county? I'm interested in seeing how the bees will organize when left on their own. I'd like to see in what materials they build their hive, height from the ground, direction of the opening, etc...

In Q & A
I had the good fortune to capture a swarm on my tea farm yesterday. This is my first time ever dealing with a swarm. I've got them set up in a new hive and am wondering if I should treat them for mites right away since I don't know anything about where the came from. Any thoughts from those with more experience than myself are more than welcome. If the answer is to treat now, are there suggestions on what time of treatment is ideal for this time of year? I've used apivar strips previously but am open to all options. Are there any other things I should be thinking as far as care for the swarm? Or, do I just care for them them same as a new package of bees and get on with it? Cheers, Bob If anyone is interested, here is a link to the video I made of my very amateur effort to capture the swarm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVozc5mZyd8
