how much sugar syrup to give right now
hives are going thru 2 quarts of sugar water daily. Should I keep feeding this amount during this heat wave or cut back so the bees dont over fill the hive

All depends on what you are seeing during an inspection. Just make sure they aren’t filling all the space the queen has to lay. If they are cut back by reducing the number of holes they can access or reduce the concentration. They usually don’t store 1:1 but you really just need to look in the colony.
