World Bee Day - May 20th
Bee Fact: May 20th is designations as World Bee Day to celebrate the birthday of the pioneer of modern apiculture, Anton Janša. Actually, they don't know hist actual birth date, but they have record of his baptism, May 20, 1734.
The purpose of the day is to acknowledge the role bees and other pollinators have on our ecosystem.
As a rookie beekeeper, I'll be having a little birthday celebration later today, after I finish making about 20,000 little cupcakes for my new colonies!
