Swarm Traps in HoCo

Does anyone here have experience placing swarm traps in the Columbia area? I'm a newbee starting this spring with a nuc, and I'm also going to try and catch some local bees in a swarm trap or two. I have some questions:

  • What sort of swarm trap success rates do people typically have around Columbia? I've heard to expect anywhere from 1/3 of traps to catch things each year to upwards of multiple swarms per trap, if you keep them maintained.

  • Can you legally put swarm traps on public property, like local parks? Are there any marking requirements?

  • What have your experiences been trapping swarms around here?
