Swarm Traps in HoCo
Does anyone here have experience placing swarm traps in the Columbia area? I'm a newbee starting this spring with a nuc, and I'm also going to try and catch some local bees in a swarm trap or two. I have some questions:
What sort of swarm trap success rates do people typically have around Columbia? I've heard to expect anywhere from 1/3 of traps to catch things each year to upwards of multiple swarms per trap, if you keep them maintained.
Can you legally put swarm traps on public property, like local parks? Are there any marking requirements?
What have your experiences been trapping swarms around here?
