Package Honey Production

I‘m dropping a 3lb package in a 10 frame with all drawn frames, some bee bread and frame of honey in mid March. As they fill out I’m also placing a super on with drawn comb. In terms of honey production, how will they compare to my overwintered hives? Thank you.

The drawn comb will help but you will loose 3 weeks waiting for the package queen to lay and hatch new bees. The package hive would come up faster if you pull 2 frames of brood from your production hives and put them in with the package hive. Saves 3 weeks waiting for the package brood to develop and hatch and the hive will be stronger when the nectorflow starts. Can't predict how much more honey you will be able to harvest.
