Hi Beekeepers! Our Vice President, Bill Glover has just confirmed our guest speaker for April: Amy Floyd, Head of Beekeeper Relations at Dalan Animal Health.
Amy will provide insights into the first honey bee vaccine, the only biological medication conditionally licensed by the USDA-CVB for American Foulbrood. The presentation will cover how the vaccine works, how to apply it, and where you can find it. We'll see you at the meeting!

Hey Beekeepers! We'd love to see what beekeeping and bee gifts you were given this holiday season! Post a picture with a description and any commentary here. We can't wait to see! I'll start! I enjoy talking with children about the girls, so our oldest daughter decided that it was time for me to have a complete collection of books about bees for the little ones. Each one is simply charming and I'm looking forward to using them!

Hi there! If you have chickens, are you in need of egg cartons? I've been holding onto egg cartons for a while now and have quite a few that are free to a good home. So, if you are in need of some (or all?) please let me know so we can arrange a date and time for the "transfer". 🐓🐓 Tina

HI, I'm a member. I would like to know how other beekeepers winterize their hive. Do you wrap with roofing paper? Insulate with foam and wrap the outside? I've had bees for years and I've lost some hives over the years and kept some through the winter. If you have any articles or youtube videos to watch, I'm open to all suggestions. My girls are healthy right now and I'd like to see them winter through. Gina Gulliford

Hello Beekeepers! We are organizing another members-only special order offer: fondant for winter feeding of our bees! Our Outreach Coordinator, Dean Clark will be organizing the order.
The fondant comes in 50-pound boxes and we will be taking the orders up to November 1, 2020. The delivery date will be set once the order is placed, but based on previous experience, the fondant should arrive in 10-14 days.
Depending on member response, Dean may place two orders.
Here are the details:
Orders emailed to DeanAllynClark@gmail.com by 11/01/20 50 pounds of boxed fondant for $45 (an amazing price, one normally finds fondant on the internet at this price for half the amount!) Should the cost comes in at a lesser amount, refunds will be given at the time of pick up. Fondant to be picked up from: 8301 Whitebark Ct, Ellicott City, MD 21043
Cash and checks sent ahead would be appreciated. (Checks made out to Dean Clark and mailed to 8301 Whitebark Ct, Ellicott City, MD 21043) The order will be placed on 11/02/20. Pickup date to be announced. Dean's cell is: 443-878-3315
